SPa Like Master Bath
This 1990’s Plano Master Bath went from taking out a huge bulky corner bath tub with very outdated finishings to a modern tranquil space that the homeowners now feel at peace and calm in. The decision to remove the bathtub and the window over the bathtub was pretty easy, knowing that the countertop space, cabinet/storage space, and functionality would tremendously improve. The goal was to brighten the room, keep it clean & sophisticated while adding a hint of color with the tile. After removing the one window in the room, it was then a must to add 3 new windows towards the top of the wall almost where the ceiling hits to bring in natural light. The new tile selections were also key…the floor tile needed to “hide” the day to day use of wear and tear (so not too light of flooring so that you see every little thing but not too dark so the space isn’t too harsh). We kept the shower neutral but fun bringing in really pretty textured tile in large format and running if vertical for a more modern flair. It was also important to hide the shower niche so that you don’t see all shampoo bottles etc. upon first glance into the bathroom. The fun “accessories” in the room came into play with running the backsplash tile half way up the wall and mixing metals with the beautiful scones, mirrors and pluming fixtures. The pretty cabinetry set everything into motion and brought in the warmth we needed in the space!
